I will never get tired of asking help for my family, just a little recap: From the start of the pandemic I was laid off on work and because of all the people who helped me and my family, I was able to helped my brother in his last days, he is a dialysis patient but unexpectedly passed away last Nov 13, 2020. I was able to provide food for my family, my mother, brother and 8 kids, they're my nephews and nieces who is orphan. We were able to live in a safer house because of the donation i received from all the generous and kind people. Its 2021 and there is still no sign on when the pandemic ends. Ladino, otherwise known as Judeo-Spanish or Judeo-Espanyol is a minority language spoken almost exclusively by Sephardic Jews. It’s main influence is Old Castillian Spansih, and anyone who speaks Spanish won’t have too much difficulty in understanding it, but it is also influenced by Hebrew, Turkish, and Arabic. Because it is only spoken by between 60,000 and 400,000 people, resources for learning Ladino are scarce, so I wanted to share the online (free!) resources I’ve found for those who would like to learn

Online Courses

• Endangered Languages Online Course - a series of videos that take you through conversational Ladino
• A Beginner’s Course to Ladino - I cannot recommend this course enough, the lady who does the videos is so sweet and helpful. There is homework and resources. If you want to learn Ladino, you should definitely check this out
• Ladino Language and Song - this course is being run at the moment so if you’re quick you can be a part of the live sessions!

Social Media Accounts

• @ladino_hoy on Instagram is a Spanish account aimed at teaching common Ladino phrases
• @SephardicBrothe on Twitter often posts resources in Ladino and is definitely worth following to stay updated on new resources coming out
• @SarahAroeste on Twitter makes music in Ladino and often posts resources as well

Basics

• Getting started - an introduction to grammar and phrases in Ladino
• Diksionario de Djudeo-Espanyol a Inglez - an essential resource, this is a PDF Ladino and English dictionary
  
• Ladino Phrasebook - A very basic introduction into greetings in Ladino, helpful for beginners
• Kan Ladino - A regular radio programme in Ladino, complete with music and conversation, very helpful

Sunday, January 3rd: Hi everyone, I’m Gemma, a bi, mentally ill disaster, who’s in desperate need of help, as I'm really struggling to get by.

As most of you are already aware, I have been struggling financially for quite some time due to my welfare benefits being reviewed, under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. And at the moment, I'm currently struggling to get by as I don't receive my U.C benefit until the end of the month and I am still awaiting the outcome of my PIP application (Feb 2021 at the latest) and I need help with my utility meters and getting groceries.

It's due to snow again on Tuesday, and I desperately need help to keep my heating system up and running as it's -8°c here and getting colder.

I don't have anyone else to turn to for help and I cannot go to the store myself, so I need groceries delivered and I need help to get through the current lockdown (which doesn't end til the 16th)

If anyone could send me £10/£20 for my gas/electricity meters or a little more to help me get groceries and do me til the end of the month, it would literally save my life, and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody is obligated in any way to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling right now.

since i’ve never seen a positivity post like this, here’s a shout out to all the intersex ppl who:

• have health problems due to being intersex
• have been traumatized by doctors, and/or have a general fear of them
  
• have struggles/traumas/insecurities specifically due to being intersex
  
• get dysphoria due to being intersex but not the same kind of dysphoria that trans/nb people get
• since the moment they were born, everybody knew they were intersex
  
• are terrified of being intimate
  
• get misgendered a lot, even if they’re cis
  
• if they’re trans, they feel like they didn’t have the “proper” trans experience
  
• have never seen a picture of someone else that looks like how they look
  
• feel like nobody understands
